Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Tuesday, Dec. 31: At 1:52 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson police department with an arrest.
Monday, Dec. 30: Routine activity reported.
Sunday, Dec. 29: At 12:41 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 1900 block of County Road P-14 (J Ave) in Greenbrier Township. At 8:44 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle rollover accident in the 1900 block of County Road P-46 (W Ave) in Junction Township. Marilyn Heater, 81, of Ogden lost control of her 2014 Chevrolet Malibu on the icy roadway and rolled into the ditch. She was not injured. Damage to her vehicle exceeded value. At 8:52 pm the sheriff, an Iowa state trooper, Greene County Ambulance and the Grand Junction fire department responded to a single vehicle accident on 222nd St near Highway 30 east of Grand Junction. The (unnamed) driver lost control on the icy roadway, entered the ditch and struck a culvert. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle. The vehicle caught fire and was put out by the GJ fire department. The Iowa State Patrol investigated the accident.

Friday, Dec. 27: At 10:30 am a deputy assisted DHS with a theft investigation in Grand Junction. At 5:44 pm a deputy investigated a two-vehicle accident on Highway 30 near Orchard Ave east of Jefferson, David Hickle, 81, of Boone was eastbound driving a 2005 Ford Taurus. He struck a M-C stock cutter attached to a 1995 Case IH 67240 tractor driven eastbound to Timothy Tucker, 48, of Jefferson. There were no injuries. The Jefferson fire department and Greene County Ambulance responded to the scene. Hickle was cited for failure to stop in assured clear distance. Damage to his vehicle was estimated at $1,500. Damage to the stock cutter was estimated at $R10,000.
Thursday, Dec. 26: At 10 am deputies executed a search warrant at 1004 E. Railroad St in Grand Junction. Drug paraphernalia and suspected marijuana were located. Charges are pending lab results. At 9:50 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in Churdan. Joshua LeClair, 35, of Churdan was arrested for domestic abuse assault- third or subsequent offense*.
Wednesday, Dec. 25: At 4:10 am a deputy investigated a domestic assault in Scranton. Carla Lehrkamp, 27, of Scranton was arrested for domestic abuse assault- first offense (simple misdemeanor)*. At 9:34 am a deputy investigated a dog bite at Linn and State Sts in Scranton. At 3:35 pm a deputy assisted with pigs loose in a field on Highway 144 near 250th St south of Grand Junction.
Tuesday, Dec. 24: At 6:49 am a deputy investigated an assault in Grand Junction. At 6:10 pm a deputy arrested Brandon Dodson, 34, of Webster City for a mittimus warrant for failure to serve a sentence. At 8:51 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of fireworks in Scranton.

Sunday, Dec. 22: At 2:24 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of identity theft in Scranton. At 7:04 pm a deputy arrested Danny Benshoof, 67, of Perry on an arrest warrant for criminal mischief- fifth degree (simple misdemeanor)*. At 9:03 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief complaint in Scranton.
Saturday, Dec. 21: At 3:13 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 200 block of T Ave in Paton Township. At 9:07 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on County Road E-53 (235th St near R Ave east of Jefferson).
Friday, Dec. 20: At 8:30 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 1900 block of 310th St in Washington Township.
Thursday, Dec. 19: At 6:03 pm a deputy arrested Damon Zimpel, 28, of Scranton for an arrest warrant for two counts of theft- fifth degree*. At 9:11 pm deputies assisted the Jefferson PD with a vehicle pursuit on Highway 30.
Wednesday, Dec. 18: At 3:44 am a deputy assisted with receiving Isaiah Burt, 32, of Fairburn, GA. Burt was brought from New York for an arrest warrant for a revocation of a pretrial release. At 4:24 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a stolen vehicle at Sparky’s in Jefferson. At 6:06 am a deputy investigated vehicle-cow accident on County Road E-63 (330th St) just west of Highway 25 in Willow Township. Cody Kunecke, 24, of Coon Rapids was eastbound driving a 2005 Ford F150 pickup truck when he struck a cow in the roadway. The owner of the cow was notified and it was removed. Damage to Kunecke’s truck exceeded value. He was cited for driving while license suspended and operation without a registration card or plate. At 5:37 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident in the 800 block of 240th St in Jackson Township. Duane Holman, 60, of Ogden struck a deer with his 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,000.
Tuesday, Dec. 17: At 9:45 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 400 block of Highway 144 in Paton Township. At 11:55 am a deputy, Grand Junction fire, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 30 and 16th St in Grand Junction. Dale Ganoe, 41, of Jefferson was eastbound on Highway 30 driving his 2004 Chevrolet Suburban. Jacob Berry, 25, of Jefferson failed to yield right of way and pulled out in front of Ganoe. Berry was driving a 2007 Pontiac Vibe. Both vehicles ended up in the south ditch. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident. Nobody was injured or transported. Ganoe was cited for an unsafe turn. At 4:07 pm a deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident on A Avenue just north of 215th St in Kendrick Township. Joshua Hill, 37, of Cherokee was driving a tractor pulling a manure spreader southbound and went over the railroad tracks too fast. He entered the ditch, striking a power pole and pulling the lines down. The estimated damage to the tractor and tank was $10,000. Ralston Fire and secondary roads assisted with closing the road. Ralston was without power for a lengthy amount of time due to the repairs needed to the power lines. Hill was cited for failure to maintain control.
Monday, Dec. 16: At 9:17 am the sheriff took a trespass complaint in Paton. At 11:09 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 1900 block of 310th St in Washington Township. At 5:10 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal hunting in the 1700 block of Q Ave in Grant Township.
Sunday, Dec. 15: At 7:39 am a deputy assisted the Calhoun County sheriff’s office with locating a missing person at Wild Rose Casino.
Saturday, Dec. 14: At 1:56 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 800 block of Main St East in Grand Junction. At 6:57 pm a deputy investigated a gas drive-off at Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction.
Friday, Dec. 13: At 4:41 pm a deputy investigated a trespass complaint the 2200 block of R Ave in Franklin Township.
Thursday, Dec. 12: At 1:28 am a deputy assisted with removing a deer from the roadway in the 1000 block of Highway 30 west of Jefferson. At 11:13 am a deputy investigated a complaint of theft in the 900 block of Eagle St in Scranton.
Wednesday, Dec. 11: At 3:15 pm deputies assisted with a head-on collision of a tractor/trailer and a pick-up truck in the 900 block of V Ave in Junction Township. Greene County Ambulance, Grand Junction fire, Jefferson fire, Iowa State Patrol and Iowa Department of Transportation were at the scene. LifeFlight was requested to the scene to transport. The Iowa State Patrol investigated the accident.
Tuesday, Dec. 10: At 2:19 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 2400 block of Sherwood Ave in Franklin Township.
Monday, Dec. 9: At 9:19 am a deputy issued a salvage tag for a deer in the 1800 block of 195th St in Hardin Township. The deer had been struck by a vehicle; damage to the vehicle was minimal. At 10:42 am a deputy investigated a theft of a vehicle in the 1200 block of County Road N-65 (E Ave) north of Scranton. At 9:21 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Highway 30 at K Ave west of Jefferson.
Sunday, Dec. 8: At 7:44 am a deputy investigated a domestic assault in Grand Junction. Jerry Lavern Miller was arrested for domestic abuse assault – display of a weapon- first offense*. At 8:44 pm a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in Scranton.
Saturday, Dec. 7: At 7:37 am a deputy investigated a burglary complaint in the 1000 block of Sandoe St in Grand Junction. At 11:46 am a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal hunting in the 2000 block of Neola Ave in Franklin Township.
Friday, Dec. 6: At 7:17 pm deputies investigated an anhydrous leak in the 2000 block of Highway 4 (Neola Ave) in Franklin Township. Greene County Ambulance assisted with the call. At 8:38 pm a deputy investigated an intoxicated subject the 200 block of N. Chestnut St in Jefferson. Ted Lawrence Semke was arrested for public intoxication*.
Thursday, Dec. 5: At 1:52 am a deputy investigated a complaint of smoke smell in a residence in the 1500 block of County Road E-53 (235th St) west of Jefferson. Plastic was found on stove that was on.
Wednesday, Dec. 4: At 5:05 am the sheriff investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 at Orchard Ave east of Jefferson. Kyle Harding, 29, of Ogden struck a deer with his 2013 Dodge Ram. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000.
Tuesday, Dec. 3: At 7:08 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 1400 block of 160th St in Dawson Township. Ryan Patterson, 38, of Jefferson was found at the residence and arrested on a warrant for a violation of a no contact order*.
Monday, Dec. 2: At 3:56 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD respond to a burglary in the 300 block of N. Cedar St. At 7:25 am a deputy attempted to find cattle reported to be out on Quaker Ave near 270th St in Franklin Township. At 8:35 am a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 100 block of E. Hager St in Grand Junction. At 12:02 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on Q Ave near 140th St in Dawson Township. At 1:09 pm a deputy investigated a dog running at large on Highway 30 near Orchard Ave east of Jefferson. At 5:14 pm a deputy attempted to locate cattle out on County Road E-26 (140th St) near W Ave in Junction Township
